Type

I'm finding the Type site a tad tricky to navigate, so please excuse me if this is posted elsewhere, but does anyone know if the Johan Johannsson LP ("And in the endless pause there came the sound of bees") is indeed due for release this year on Type?

I recall this subject coming up recently on here, and it was indeed confirmed that Type will be pressing the Johannsson album on vinyl.  Although I don't know anything about the release date, I do however know that it will be fantastic!   

I'm hoping that John might shed some more light on this soon... ;)

Now that this has been announced, can we anticipate the regular 1-2 week delay coming to Forced Exposure?  Or should I pick up the release on Boomkat ?

Anyone know how scarce the initial run on transparent vinyl will be?  I'm guessing the first 100 copies, followed by 400 on standard black, as usual...

I prefer the black vinyl.  Mr. Hemingway, there's a reason you've now got a blue Julien Neto.  Type's coloured vinyl are really well pressed compared with alot of coloured vinyl, I just like being able to see the jam, etc my children have poured onto the record better.

Perhaps then Larry, transparent vinyl might just be the answer ;)

Thanks by the way for the care with packaging that Neto LP - as expected, it spent an afternoon outside in the rain courtesy of the Great British Postal Service.

I might be wrong, but I'm sure years ago I read somewhere that back in the depths of time, black was chosen for vinyl because it was was the best for showing up dirt, fingerprints, etc, rather than being the natural colour that vinyl comes out as.  I could have made that up, or dreamt it.

Aaaaah, the transparent vinyl is now cradled in my loving arm (as I type this with my other free hand). One of my surprise Top 10 albums of the year - absolutely gorgeous :0)

Any info on this being released as CD? Cannot find much even in JJ's homepage.

there was a mention somewhere that the cd version will be out april 2010.
