Fantstic news! Sadly, this is to expensive for me. But I'm confident, that you won't have any problems in selling those lps in record time |
yeah. would love to have one, but to expensive for me as well. |
Damn, so stoked to see this on vinyl - but unfortunately too pricey for me too. Shame... |
I am happy enough with the CD if I see this price. |
And what happened to that lovely artwork on the 12K release? |
WAY TOO PRICEY, plus i loved the original art |
Let me please clarify the pricing of this edition. From the very beginning it was clear to me that the edition will be super limited and in this case it made no sense to use a standard 280gr cheap paper for the cover in order to keep the selling price at usual value. The massive triple gatefold has its production price and people holding the final product in their hands will understand. Daniel / Minority Records |

Don't get me wrong, I understand the costs involved in such a project, I don't think it's a price gouge. I was just really looking forward to this coming out on vinyl but I can't afford the price tag, instead I'll be tracking down a CD copy. What's up with Type's plan of releasing the Sad Mac on vinyl? |
I'd rather have 280g paper and a normal price. It's the pressing quality that really matters. Wasn't it Radioland that Type have scheduled? |
This is what the problem is with this new vinyl revival thing going on. At what point did the packaging come before the music? Give me a standard sleeve and black vinyl with a decent price tag and I'm set. |
And I thought the latest Biosphere vinyl reissues were expensive at 25 Euros... |
Wait...Type plans to re-release Radioland? Can anyboy confirm this? This would be a dream come true |
can't lie... i'm a sucker for deluxe editions with quality packaging and heavy vinyl... i think it is something record labels should offer more of... with that being said, i too cannot afford the $78.91USD (price+shipping) to have this release shipped to the US... steep price for a single release... |
Wow that's expensive. Just how pricey can a gatefold sleeve possibly be? I guess with that low run of copies a full gatefold is expensive, but 49 Eur? |
Hope that Daniel @ Minority Records does ok with this, but it's too expensive for me. Yeah, the Biosphere was about the limit to what I can afford to pay at the mo. |
I don't think Minority need to worry about this selling. It'll sell, albeit mostly to Belgian record dealers, but it will sell. |

If I were to release something like this on my label I would make totally different choices. For the same amount of money spend I could do a double LP in 300 copies pressed at Record Industry but in a cheaper sleeve. Which would mean I could make 145 more people happy for a good price (about 20 to 25 euro, but probably even less). I rather make 300 people happy in (and for this release making 500 copies wouldn't be a problem either I guess, it would sell good enough...) |
I contated Record Industry yesterday about a pressing and they told me they were too busy to take my order. Proof that everyone will run a record label for 15 minutes ; ) |
From working with them, Record Industry prefer to have you go through a broker if you're based in the UK at least. Try Sound Performance in London. |
Cheers for the tip mate, will do |
I always deal with Record Industry direct, never had any problems with them. |
Yep, same. I'm sorry, but paying 50+ euros for a vinyl reissue is just silly and intentionally limits the audience to rich collectors and/or resellers. Good packaging is always welcome, but not when it drives the sales price to insane levels like this. Also, why does the artist need 55 copies? To sell direct? Should've pressed 300 copies and sold for half the price, like Orphax suggested, but hey... it's your label :) |
So what about Radioland? |
R.E: Radioland: I'm sure I remember it being mentioned on here as a future Type release a while ago. Or it might just be me spreading rumours. Who knows? |
