This is gonna be a cracker! :) Cafe Oto is here: 22 Ashwin Street, Dalston, London E8 3DL

hellosQuare recordings from Canberra, Australia have been releasing an eclectic mix of music over the last five years and are now proud to present ‘An Evening with hellosQuare’, their first night of music in London with some of their good friends - Mark Templeton (Canada), the Isambard Khroustaliov/Maurizio Ravalico duo and Australian ex-pat Inch-time.

Canadian artist Mark Templeton utilizes a background in acoustic music and instruments
such as the guitar, banjo and accordion to compose electro-acoustic music using said
instruments and a variety of effects processes. Since the release of his critically acclaimed
Standing on a Hummingbird in 2007, his sound has been called "pastoral," but also
"painterly" in an attempt to describe how his instruments are crumbled and reconstructed
into new forms; a process further developed and realized on his 2009 release, Inland.
Templeton has performed at international festivals and alternative spaces such as MUTEK
Festival (Montreal), Unsound Festival (Krakow), Eat This Festival (Utrecht), Galapagos
(New York), Send+Receive Festival (Winnipeg) Latitude 53 (Edmonton) and Suoni Per Il
Popolo Festival (Montreal).

Isambard Khroustaliov is the solo alias of Sam Britton from the electronic group Icarus. Since 1997 he has recorded and released music for a number of independent electronic music labels in the UK and the US (Output Recordings, Temporary Residence, Domino and The Leaf Label) and continues to perform as Icarus (with Ollie Bown) all over Europe and most recently Australia in a series of shows presented with the help of hellosQuare.

He will be performing in duo form with percussionist Maurizio Ravalico, one time percussionist with Jamiroquai and James Taylor Quartet and now collaborator with tuba player Oren Marshall and a member of the F-IRE collective alongside his work with Sam. Their record ‘Five Loose Plans’, released on Not Applicable in 2006 is an exploration into the sonic potential of metric freed percussion and real-time electronics in the context of free improvisation.

Inch-time is Australian electronic artist Stefan Panczak (currently based in London, UK). Stefan’s music focuses on melding organic and electronic sounds; combining minimal melodic electronica with such diverse influences as jazz, folk and World music to create a wholly unique and beautiful sound.

After several releases on his own Australian based Lab record label, 2005 saw the release of Inch-time’s debut album ‘Any Colour You Like’ on UK label Static Caravan. This has been followed by a limited edition 7” single ‘Icicles And Snowflakes’, the album ‘As The Moon Draws Water’ and various appearances on compilations and remix releases including the hellosQuare release ‘In The City’ by Shoeb Ahmad.

His recent 12” ‘Aurora’ presents a world of minimal techno pulses coated in warm dubbed out textures and is released in anticipation of his new record this Summer.

Peace!
