1. drekka - collected works vol. 1 (2cd)

Drekka has been a long-standing record collectors nightmare; a case that is now rectified with this collection of varied and widespread orphans. 'collected works vol. 1' is a 2cd that -like the name suggests- collects his very first output. These recordings capture the grief of loss, the hope of love, the sounds of a vast empty New England house and a cramped, but cozy apartment in Chicago.

You can expect a good dose of hushed, cinematic, ambient, ethereal-folk. at times discordant and menacing, more often communicative and inviting. namedropping? fans of Flying Saucer Attack, Svarte Greiner, Coil, Machinefabriek or late Swans won't be disappointed.

2. ordering - package deals

all available items are listed at http://www.morctapes.com/catalog. prices mentioned there (and in this newsletter) do not include shipping - please ask us, we only charge the cost of the stamps. for a double cd or two single cds, that's around 2,5 - 3 euros. sending over up to 6 items (cd/cdr/tape/7") won't cost more than 5,5 - 6 euro's. we still offer all kinds of package deals etc too, eg this drekka 'special' - just 14 euro for the 2cd-set + a tape (icelandic for beginners, morc 40) and a 3" cdr (howl on wind, morc 35)...

as for payment, we can handle paypal, well hidden cash and banc transfers (preferred for people in the euro-zone)

3. sold out

well, this is what happens if you wait to long before ordering... we recently sold our last copies of:
- 'drawn' by soccer committee and machinefabriek (lp, morc 51)
- 'hibernation' by karina esp/circle bros/drekka (10", morc 50)
- 'ceci n'est pas avioth/ils chantent pour vous' by r.o.t. (12", morc 47)
- 'split lp' by zent one and circle brothers (lp, morc 25)
however, some distro's have few copies left. just ask us, and we can show you the way to a distro in your area that might have what you're looking for.

4. related releases

a few morc-related artists have recently put out albums on other labels. most notably:

- annelies monsere: marit (cd on auetic)
her long expected follow-up of Helder. you might recognize two tracks from the ep she recorded with jessica bailiff. we have some copies in stock of this item - for just 10 euro, as well as her previous releases on morc.

- vlor: six winged (cd on silber media)
a drone bigband feat remora, jessica bailiff, annelies monseré... try to recognize the contributions by your favorites! we also stock this one - for just 10 euro.

- drekka: ancestral caveman sequence (tape on digitalis)
based on an improv from 2008. quite different from the 2cd on morc, but also a treat.

- machinefabriek: lots of stuff
off course, the past few months brought us a whole bunch of new releases by this soccer committee-collaborator. most notably are: the cd/lp with peter broderick on Fang Bomg and the cd with Tim Catlin on Low Point.

- holy sons: criminals return (cd on important)
emil amos' second full length cd this year. besides holy sons, he's also working in Om and Grails. his 10" on morc is unfortunately long gone.

as mentioned, we stock the annelies monseré and vlor releases. for the other ones: just ask, and we can tell you where to get them.
