This release is quite special for me, the 5^th so far (prime numbers good).  Until now, I’ve only released my own work or collaborations, so this album is hopefully the first of many new and unusual artists to release with Runningonair.

Apart from the fact this is a really enjoyable listening experience, it is also an experiment within an experiment.  The music is certainly experimental, combining aspects of micro-sound, noise and granular synthesis but also due to the way three of the tracks are produced it’s been possible to create many individual versions, which in turn has led to us producing 101 versions of the album!

100 of these are being released as unique CD-Rs along with the original version on a second disk.  This should allow the listener a chance to compare  2 of the versions.  So while it is a limited edition of 100 disk sets it is also a 100 limited editions of 1 disc set.  I hope that make sense.

Firstly thanks to all those who have bought a copy.  Interest has been good on this release.

Loop.cl have just completed an interview with Guy.  It provides an useful insight into his current research and helps to explain how “Symmetry-Breaking” has ended up being the unusual and interesting work it is.
