Type Library / new on morc: boduf songs, annelies monseré, karina esp
a new 10" by boduf songs - a long time morc favorite that we're glad to have on board for this ep. also: a 10" by morc-resident annelies monseré, who offers 23 minutes of new material,, and a cd by karina esp - an overwhelming amount of very melodic drones. you can pick up the three of them for a discount price of 25 euro + shipping. bargain - and we'll throw in some extra surprises (bootlegs, demos, second hand copies, comics, posters: be surprised) + you'll get a 10 % discount on any additional item from the catalogue. and if you really want to, we can provide you a download link as well. - order? wim@morctapes.com Boduf Songs: Internal Memo (morc 59 - 10" - 10 euro) as mentioned, boduf songs is debuting here on morc. mat sweet has thusfar released four full lengths of minmal songs, but all very well charactarised by a deep and heavy sound. internal memo brings you 6 new songs, on very lush ultrablack vinyl. comes in an edition of 200, wil black paper sleeves with silver printing. sounds and looks amazing. Annelies Monseré: Nest (morc 60 - 10" - 10 euro) Annelies Monseré is one of those artists who graces us with excellent ep’s that at the same time are a sort of missing link between full lengths, and being records that have enough qualities to be justified to be listened to on their own. Nest is no exception to this. expect both built up and fully arranged songs, mixed with her trademarked bare pianosound. bonus: steve marreyt of edgar wappenhalter shows up on a few tracks, as well as annelies' live collaborator yumi verplancke. edition of 155 in stylish folodut sleeve. Karina ESP: Detachment (morc 61 - 10" - 10 euro) literally in the works for years: karina esp's first cd on morc. chris gowers had been writing and re-arranging this album forever, and late last year he decided to record detachment in a matter of days. that's what you can hear: ideas and thoughts that have been growing for years, all let out at once. a glorious mix of warm, friendly but desolated melodies and drones is the result. mr gowers perfectly matches the high expectations we had for this. comes in a mini-lp style sleeve. these are all 10 euro each, or, as mentioned: 25 + shipping for the three of them. there are a bunch of other package deals as well, see http://morctapes.com/catalog/packages.html (for details and a free mp3) also: we recently managed to restock copies of oop morc-releases. off course: quantities are limited. - drekka: collected works vol 1 (morc 53 - 2cd - 10 euro) - urpf lanze/Edgar Wappenhalte/hellvete: tour ep (morc 58 - cd - 6 euro) for those of you more into 'downloads': we made a bandcamp, where you find all releases we did from 2007 on, even the ones that are out of print. we've also put up a free sampler there. (well, you can donate what you like) if you'd like to stay updated on morc-related news more often, feel free to add morctapes as a friend on twitter (www.twitter.com/morctapes) and/or on facebook.com/morctapes. best,

Type Bar / The Listening Thread I wanna phrase it like this: When you have "Oxtirn" and "Red Horse", why should you bother with Keszler's PAN Release for example? His style is unique, but he's a one-trick pony. And if you get the feeling, that the story is basically told, you get bored. I hope, it's not the case, and I will follow his future releases, but for me, he has to prove, that he's capable of other stuff. |

Type Bar / The Listening Thread Yeah, his playing is great to witness live but just like other hyperactive contemporary Free Jazz the recordings just make nervous. |
